Samantha J. Yozze
Ms. Yozze has experience in many aspects of civil litigation. At BCK, she handles a variety of cases, understanding that each requires a tailored strategy to achieve the best possible outcome for her client. Ms. Yozze has successfully defended numerous clients by employing effective communication with opposing counsel, pursuing risk transfer strategies, and using cost-effective case management throughout the course of litigation.
Ms. Yozze joined BCK as an associate and became partner in January 2019. She began her legal career working for a solo practitioner as a plaintiff’s personal injury attorney, where she gained valuable jury trial experience and handled all aspects of litigation from intake and initial investigation to arbitration or trial. While Ms. Yozze attended Chicago-Kent College of Law, she clerked for a subrogation and insurance defense firm. Ms. Yozze’s time on both sides of plaintiff and defense work provides her with in a unique and advantageous perspective for her clients.
Ms. Yozze is an active member of the Chicago Bar Association’s Animal Law Committee. She lives in Chicago’s West Loop and enjoys running, crafting, and working on her golf game.
Ms. Yozze successfully argued before the Second District Illinois Appellate Court in support of upholding the trial court’s order granting summary judgment in favor of her client, a defendant in a premises liability case involving a slip and fall in a bank parking lot.
Ms. Yozze has obtained orders granting summary judgment on behalf of both corporate and individual healthcare providers in federal cases brought by inmates alleging Section 1983 civil rights violations relating to medical treatment.
Ms. Yozze negotiated a favorable outcome for her client, a demolition and excavation company, in a multi-party dispute brought by homeowners alleging property damage resulting from neighboring construction.
